Caveland Farm is a horse retirement farm operating for the last forty years, by owners Pete and Liz Dunning. Over the years the Dunnings and their four girls have been avid foxhunters and competitive in hunter/jumper rings. Mr. Dunning was active in the politics of Clarke County serving on the Board of Supervisors for over thirty years and on the local Planning Commission. He was instrumental in passing the sliding scale zoning that keeps Clarke County the open and undeveloped area that it is. Mrs. Dunning served as the secretary of the local hunt for over twenty years. Horse farm manager, Shelley Day, has worked in all aspects of the horse business and now oversees Caveland’s horse retirement facility. She is an expert at diagnosing a myriad of minor horse ailments and spends all of her time keeping track of the retired horses.
